Halloween Party!

Today we listened to the book The House That Jack Built on recording then we made a spooky stew! We had crushed bats (grape kool-aid), smashed bones (sugar), a monster hand (glove with green water), and ghost pieces (very small pieces of dried ice)! In small groups we laced a spider web, we cut out a mummy, and we felt some spooky things! We felt eye balls (olives), veins (cooked spaghetti noodles), and bug guts (relish)! It was so much fun! Then finally our Trunk-Or-Treat! Thank you to all the parents and family who participated! The kids had a blast! Have a fabulous Halloween and be safe! Ms. Ashley

Good night Goon

Today we read the book Goodnight Goon. In small groups we made Halloween slime, we made our own goons/monsters, and we used a bean hand to count with! We had a nurse come talk to us about Halloween safety; she gave us a glow in the dark necklace to wear on Halloween! Our Star of the week shared his board with us and a horse! See you tomorrow in your costumes! Ms. Ashley

Jack O Lantern!

Today we read the book Ten Timid Ghosts. Instead of small groups we had a large group; we carved a pumpkin! First everyone had to vote on what eyes, nose, and mouth they wanted. Then we pulled the pumpkin guts out! Finally we made a glue ghost to go along with our book! We celebrated a birthday and welcomed a new friend today too! Fun day! See you tomorrow, Ms. Ashley

Pumpkins!

We're learning about pumpkins and Halloween this week! Today we read the book Five Little Pumpkins!. In small groups we made a pumpkin, we glued string and seeds into a book about pumpkins, and we counted pumpkin seeds! Our Star of the Week shared some of his favorite toys with us today! This is going to be such a fun week! Can't wait! Ms. Ashley

Bats!

Today we read the book What Do Bats Do? In small groups we listened like a bat would by blind-folding their eyes and listening for the bell! We made a bat picture; rolled the dice then stuck on that many stars! We also painted a bat out of an egg carton! Fun day! We changed the room to look like Halloween! The kids loved it! Have a fabulous weekend and see you on Monday!

While the World is Sleeping!

Today we read the book While the World is Sleeping. In small groups we smelled like a fox would! We smelled lemon juice, garlic salt, cherry juice, and hand sanitizer! We jumped like a rabbit would; we practiced keeping our feet together when we land! We also made a porcupine with toothpicks! Fun day! See you tomorrow, Ms. Ashley
