Today we listened to the Polar Express on CD while sitting on a train! In one group we decorated sugar cookies and in another group we made hot chocolate! Before getting on the train you had to get a ticket! Then I went around and hole punched their tickets! We listened to the book while eating cookies and drinking our hot chocolate! After the book if you heard the jingle bell you got one! We made our own Polar Express book and drew what we wanted for Christmas! Our Star of the Week shared his board with his mama today too! Tinsel Elfkins was hanging upside down again! Have a very Merry Christmas and New Year! We will see you in 2014! Ms. Ashley

Christmas Party!
We had our Christmas party today! We read the book The Night Before The Night Before Christmas! A very cute book about how Christmas is about love! We had one large group and made a Winter Senses book! After we completed the book, we read the book! Ask your kiddos to try and read it to you! Then we had our Christmas party! First thing we did was make a stocking craft that was brought for us! Then we had a book read to us! After that we all got jingle bells and sang Jingle Bells to the parents! Now for the best part; the gift exchange! The girls sat in one circle and the boys sat in another circle; we played Christmas music and passed gifts around! When the music stopped if you were holding the gift you got to open it! How fun! Thank you for all the fabulous gifts! We got a lot of take home treats too! Now we can't forget about Tinsel Elfkins! He was prepared just in case an emergency came up! See everyone tomorrow for the Polar Express/Pajama Day! Ms. Ashley

Gingerbread man!
Today we read the book The Gingerbread Man. In small groups we made gingerbread ornaments out of clay and we decorated foam gingerbread men! We also colored different sized gingerbread men, cut them out, and glued them by size! Tinsel Elfkins was stuck in the curtains this morning! Tomorrow is our Christmas party! We cannot wait! Snowmen!
Today we read the book The Miracles of Christmas! Instead of having groups, we pulled kids over one at a time to make a snowman with a sock! They filled the sock with rice then picked out three buttons, two eyes, and a scarf! The teachers helped hot glue but then the kids drew on a mouth and a nose! They loved them and we hope you love them too! Tinsel Elfkins must have been writing a letter to Santa and got stuck in the stocking! Today was so much fun! Toni and I had a blast making the snowmen with the kids! Ms. Ashley

Christmas!
Today we read the book If You Take a Mouse to the Movies! In small groups we decorated the wrapping paper for the presents to their parents, we made trees with scrap book paper, and we made snowmen in shaving cream! Tinsel Elfkins was riding on a dinosaur! Too funny! I heard a kiddo say today, "Everyone be good because the elf is watching you!" We turned our kitchen area into Santa's workshop where the kiddos got to wrap boxes! They love it! This week will be so much fun!
