School!

Today we read the book Starting School! In small groups we played hopscotch and named the shapes we jumped on, we put the pictures of our daily schedule in order, and we made a hand print to take home! Today was fun! We welcomed two more new friends! See you tomorrow! Ms. Ashley

Letter A

We learned the letter A today! The new kids got to hear our alphabet song! In small groups we stamped with apples while saying "Awe" when we stamped, we put popsicle sticks together to make an A, and we wrote an A in sand! At review, I asked everyone what an A sounded like then we sang our alphabet song! We also celebrated a birthday today! Fun day! Ms. Ashley

Pete the Cat

Today we read the book Pete the Cat Wheels on the Bus. In small groups we put together a big bus puzzle, we made Pete the Cat headbands, and we went over our talking stick. If one of our kiddos has a problem with another kiddo this is a way for them to try to solve the problem by themselves. We have a poster with step-by-step pictures for the kids to see too. We welcomed more new friends today too! See you tomorrow! Ms. Ashley

Back to school!

Today we read the book I Love School! In small groups we went over our school rules again, we went to each center and talked about how to play and clean up in each center, then we decorated a frame and I will put a picture of them playing at their favorite spot in school! We are so excited to welcome our new kiddos and can't wait for the new year! See you tomorrow, Ms. Ashley

 

Tea!

Today we read the book I'm a Little Teapot! After reading the book, we sang the song and did the movements to it! In small groups we named shapes on teapots, we moved tea by using an eyedropper, and we made tea play dough. The play dough didn't make much and didn't look very pretty but it smelled amazing! What's in your pocket?

Today we read the book What's in My Pocket? In small groups we made our own pockets by lacing them, we pretended a bag was a pocket while guessing what was inside by feeling it, then we talked about how sometimes pockets get heavy with lots of stuff in them so we got some weighted number links to put together! We also got our picture taken in for the paper today! Ms. Ashley

Counting

Today we read the book One, Two Buckle My Shoe. In small groups we learned and practiced tying a shoe, we stacked cubes and counted how many we stacked, lastly we estimated how many scoops it would take to balance the balance scale! See you tomorrow, Ms. Ashley
