Water Day!

We had such a great time outside today and stayed so busy that we forgot to take pictures! We all worked together to clean our playground. We washed our things with soapy water, swept and washed away lots of dirt and sand! The kids took such pride in knowing that they helped us clean their things. After we were done playing in the water we all came in and had circle time.

July 30, 2014

During group today we tried making GIANT King and Queen bubbles by mixing cornstarch with bubbles. Even though it didn't make huge bubbles like we were expecting we still had a GREAT time blowing bubbles while sitting outside of our school! We played in the classroom like royalty and had a lot of fun doing that too! Miss Daria, from the toddler room, worked really hard on our playground this morning so we went outside early to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Dragons!

This week we are learning about castles, kings, queens, and dragons! Today was dragons! We read the book Things Moms Can't Do. It was about a nice dragon! In our group we laced a dragon then colored it! Some of the kiddos thought lacing was a little hard so we will have to work on that! Everyone seems to love the way the room is rearranged, can't wait for all the colorful changes to come during teacher work week! Ms. Ashley

 

We are learning about the sun this week!

On Monday the kiddos and Miss Katy played a matching game where they had to match the number with the correct number of dots. Then they decided they were going to paint with yellow paint to make their own sun! Today, we did color transfer. We used red in one cup and blue in the other cup. We put each end of a paper towel in each color and then we talked about what we all thought was going to happen! Some kids thought it was going to turn into a sun. We even had one who thought that the color was going to go all over to paper towel! We've been watching it all day to see its progress.

 

Last day for ice cream, pie and popcorn

We stayed really busy this morning! We were having such fun dancing that we decided to dance longer than usual. For large group we spelled our names on scoops of ice cream and then glued them on an ice cream cone! We decided we wanted to go for a walk, and we were all so well behaved while we went! We finished our morning running like crazy on the playground. Have a great weekend!

Ice Cream!

Another fun day talking about ice cream, pie and popcorn! At group today we made our own "ice cream" by blending frozen berries with juice. We then each had a little cup of berry ice cream and vanilla ice cream. We all tried them both and told each other which one we liked best. The vanilla ice cream won! Although, the teachers like the berry cream the best :)

 

Wednesday July 16th, 2014

Today has been a very busy day! Today at circle we all shared what our favorite pies were. Then we talked about what some of us might put on our pies....whipped cream!! For large group we used shaving cream and pretended it was our whipped cream. We practiced writing numbers and letters, we even got a few silly faces.

 

 

Pie, Popcorn and Ice Cream!! Oh My!!

Who doesn't love pie, popcorn and ice cream?! On Monday the kids made collages with popcorn kernels! Some of them counted their kernels as they glued them on the papers. They had a fun day with Katy!
Today we read the book Camillia, The Cupcake Fairy. For our large group we practiced our patterning skills. We are getting really good at this! It is absolutely beautiful outside and we enjoyed all the extra fresh air we could get.
