We planted tomatoes today!

Today we read the book Zinnia's Flower Garden. In small groups we matched laminated flower seed packets, we painted with vegetables, and we planted our own tomato seeds! The instruction are included with your tomato seeds on how to take care of them! Today was a fun day! Ms. Ashley

Letter Z!

Today was our last letter day this year! We sang our alphabet song and learned to sign the letter Z! In small groups we used our fine motor skills to zip and unzip a coat while saying "ZZZZZ", we had a Z tub, and we made Z's with play dough! They played with play dough for a long time! At review, we sang the alphabet song! Ms. Ashley

 

Flowers!

This week we are learning about plants and seeds! Today we read the book Mouse's First Spring. In small groups we cut out a flower, we did flower pedal math, and we planted lima beans! We changed our play kitchen area to a flower shop and we put different types of seeds in our sensory table! The kids love them! At review, we read the book Dandelions! We talked about how you can color with the yellow ones and blow on the white ones! While playing outside some students found dandelion seeds floating around! It was a fun day! Ms. Ashley

Last day for farm!

Today we read the book Thump Quack Moo! That is such a fun book to read! We talked about what cows make and in one small group we dipped chalk into buttermilk then drew with it! The pictures turned out so pretty and brightly colored. In another group we picked a farm animal then made that sound and we talked about how farms grow vegetables; we weighed different kinds of vegetables to see which was lightest and heaviest! Pigs!

Today we read a book, The Big Red Barn and asked what kind of sounds do they hear on a farm? That was a fun question! In small groups we estimated how many seeds were in the jars then counted to find out exactly how many there were, we used shapes to make a pig and mixed together colors to make pink, and we sorted farm animals that had 2 legs and 4 legs! We also took a look at the recycled paper we made on Tuesday! It turned out pretty good! Last day for farm tomorrow! Ms. Ashley

Farm Animals!

Today we read the book Funny Farm. In small groups we used tweezers to feed farm animals pom poms, we matched moms and babies together, and we painted with a plow like sponge! At review we read another book The Farm Animals! We want to welcome another new friend! Ms. Ashley

Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day! Today we read the book Fancy Nancy Every Day is Earth Day! In small groups we made a crazy Earth dude and we made an Earth with contact paper! We also tore paper into little pieces, mixed it with water, and mashed it together to form a piece of paper to show how recycling is done! We have to wait until tomorrow to see if our recycled paper worked! We finished our bunnies from yesterday too! We want to welcome a new friend today too! Ms. Ashley
