Thanksgiving week!

Today we read the book The First Thanksgiving! In small groups we shook heavy whipping cream to make butter then taste tested it! We drew cards and said the number on the card then we put that many feathers into our turkey! We also colored a Mayflower ship and colored a pilgrim to put on it! Everyone loved wearing their pajamas to school! Have a fabulous Thanksgiving and see you on Monday! Ms. Ashley

Thanksgiving Week!

Today we read the book The Littlest Pilgrim.  We talked about what we were thankful for; instead of small groups, we did one large group! We traced our hands then told what we are thankful for. After that we glued together a turkey and used the hands for feathers! They are very cute! Pajama Day tomorrow! Ms. Ashley

Pizza!

Today we read the book Funny Lunch; the book was about a dog making pizzas! Well today to go along with our kitchen and cooking theme, Ms. Stacy let the kids make their own pizzas for lunch! They were so excited! Thank you so much Ms. Stacy! In small groups we made a fake pizza with a paper plate, we read The Two Bite Club while talking about the food pyramid, and we matched food halves! Our Star of the Week shared his board and some of his favorite toys! See everyone next week! Don't forget it's a short week! Ms. Ashley

Today we read the book If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. In small groups we made cheerio necklaces, we put together potato heads, and we painted with corn on the cob! We had Ms. Coli from the library come read a Thanksgiving Day book to us! Another fun day! Ms. Ashley

Recipes!

Today we read the book Chef and discussed what the kids have tried to cook before! In small groups we got to 'somewhat' cook! We mashed already boiled potatoes with our hands! They loved it! We also broke open pea pods and counted how many peas were inside! If you counted correctly, you got to eat the peas! How fun! We also made a recipe book! The kids glued the recipes onto construction paper and the teachers tied them together! I absolutely LOVE the recipe books! Thank you so much for bringing in your favorite recipes to share with us! Letter M

Today we learned the letter M! We sang our alphabet song and learned how to sound out the letter. In small groups we read the book Z is for Moose! That is such a funny book; everyone should read it! We made M's with play dough and we counted M's on mice! We also made more play dough to go along with our cooking and kitchen week! Our Star of the Week shared his Poor Bear with us!

 

This week we're learning about the kitchen and cooking!

Today we read the book In the Kitchen and everyone told what they have helped make in the kitchen! In small groups we painted with kitchen utensils and discussed what they were used for, we played Hi Ho Cherry-O, and we  used an eye dropper to color bread! It was a very fun day! We also had our Star of the Week share one of his favorite books! We put water beads in the sensory table too; the kids love them! Please don't forget to bring in a recipe so our kids can make a recipe book on Wednesday! Ms. Ashley

5 Senses!

Today was a very messy day! We read the book Mud. In one small group we made mud! We filled a cup to the black line with water and poured into soil when mushed it between our fingers! Some liked how it felt and others did not! We painted with marbles and listened to the sound the marbles made when they hit the box! We also froze colored ice cubes and put them in vegetable oil! It was kind of neat to see how they melted in the oil. Some of our kiddos also made Ms. Teresa very beautiful today! Our Star of the Week also shared his board and toys he brought!
